Crowns
Crowns are placed over a tooth or implant to entirely cover or ‘cap’ it. It is used primarily to cover damaged teeth to protect them, but can also be used to improve the appearance, shape or alignment of the tooth.
Crowns are used to cover damaged teeth, but can also be used to protect teeth from fracture, most commonly after a root-filling. Crowns can be matched to the tooth colour using a ceramic, or porcelain material. Crowns are also available in gold and metal alloys and are sometimes used in combination with porcelain.
Dental Bridges
A bridge may be recommended to replace a gap of one or more teeth. Gaps can result in drifting and rotation of teeth and sometimes a bad bite. Bridges span the length of the missing teeth and are anchored to the teeth adjacent to the missing space or implants. As with crowns a range of materials are available to construct bridges.
